Minis Success at Sussex Festival 13.03.16

1 year ago By Paul Smith

Heathfield & Waldron RFC achieved some fantastic results and showed terrific sportsmanship at Uckfield in this weekends Sussex Festival

It was a great day for the Sussex rugby festival hosted by Uckfield this year in the sunshine. It was a long day starting with warm up at 9am and concluding with the medal and trophies being awarded just after 3pm.

RESULTS:
Under 7s (green team) won their pool and lost to Crowborough in championship final
Under 7s (black team) came second in their pool and won the plate Final

Under 8s team1 won their pool
Under 8s team 2 won their pool
The under 8s Championship final saw a great game between these two Heathfield sides which is always difficult, with team 1 coming out on top and going through to the Sussex Finals for the second year running.

Under 9s Spitfires came second in their pool and were through to the bowl final, they tied the game but won on try's scored.
Under 9s Hurricanes came third in their pool and ended runners up in the plate final.

Under 10s had two teams entered, one finishing 3rd and one finishing 7th overall with both teams winning their respective playoffs they came away with the plate and salver.

Under 11s finished 3rd in their pool which put them in the bowl playoff where after a tough match they finished runners up finishing in 4th place overall .

Under 12s won their group and won the championship final to finish 1st.

Well done to all the players, coaches and volunteers for all their hard work and last but not least to all the parents for their continued support. It was great to see all of our players enjoy themselves no matter where they finished and is testament to our inclusive fun approach to rugby at H&WRFC.
A special thank you goes to Uckfield for hosting a great tournament.
