What a brilliant start to our first season of contact rugby!

The squad is progressing brilliantly into our first season of contact rugby, there is a lot of new information and techniques for the lads to learn and remember. The coaches are working hard to keep the training enjoyable and varied but at the same time ensuring we concentrate and practice particular areas for long enough to get it right and be remembered.

For those of you unable to make training on remembrance Sunday, we were lucky enough to have Andy Gomersall (the ex England scrum half of World Cup wining fame) come and visit us and join in with training. He got stuck in playing rugby netball and passing on some knowledge and inspiration to the lads. The session seemed to fly by and everyone seemed to take something from that mornings training. I think most people managed to get an autograph or picture with Andy at least !

This Sunday we enjoyed a brisk morning for our "children in need" themed training session where the kids (and coaches) could make a donation to the worthy cause and be able to wear their Pyjamas to training. A lot of the kids had taken part in this at school and following Thomas Samuel's suggestion, we thought it would be a fun way to contribute as a club.

Update for the next couple of weeks, Ashford were scheduled to come to us for joint training this coming weekend but this has been postponed until next year as Ashford are playing to different (old) rules this year and we don't want to confuse either squad at this stage of the season.
So home training 25th November and 2nd of December where we will be working hard to prepare for Brighton's visits to us for joint training on 9th December.
Brighton will be coming in all mini age groups on this morning so we will be asking for one or two volunteers from 9.30-10 am just to direct our visitors to park in the right places. So if anyone can spare half hour please let one of us know.
The Christmas party is on the 16th of December being organised by Neil Burfield and the under 7s...details to follow, then we break for Christmas, returning to training on 6th January.

One last thing, we really need an official under 9s photographer, nothing serious but someone willing to take a few snaps at training and festivals etc. so that we can keep our web page fresh and up to date, let yourself be known...
Remember any one can upload photos to the website it takes about 2 minutes and is really easy, if your unsure give me a shout.
I have uploaded my collection of photos for your enjoyment, please take a look.
