Despite being bottom of the League , Uckfield started strongly in very windy conditions, but Heathfields strength soon showed through. Very early on Heathfield had the chance to score but the ball was held up. Soon after Harry Clewley made a run from a high kick to score. From the kick off Heathfield ran at Uckfield with a great pass out to winger Will Pursey. Another move resulted in a try from Joe Wood after some great passing by scrum half Joe Sandford to Jack Warren and out to Joe whose strength saw him over the try line.
More pressure was put on Uckfield in their 5 metre line with a ruck when Bruno Halit got the ball and scrambled the ball over. Just before half time another great backs move with a slick pass from Jack Warren to Joe Woods enabled Heathfield at half time to lead 22-0.
Early in the second half there was again some great handling with an offload from Will Pursey to Ed Koops ending up with Henry Jarvis scoring. Heathfields head were now up and an incredible run from Freddie Long from the half way line gave Heathfeild a 36-0 score line.
All Heathfields subs were now on and a scrap on Uckfields try line gave Bruno Halit his second try of the game.
Befroe the end Captain Joe Woods was yellow carded for a harsh tackle.
Uckfield had a great chance to score down the wing and would have done apart from a great tackle by Matt Barber saving a certin try.
The last score of the game came when Harry Clewley made another great run to make the final score 48-0 which included 4 conversions by Tom Nudd.
Heathfield were a little rusty after a long lay off and it showed in the number of penalties awarded against them, which a stronger team would have capitalised on. But they remain in contention for a play off place depending on Lewes or Haywards Heath slipping up.
Heathfields last home game is on the 23rd January at home to Crowborough.
