Heathfield Colts- 26 Tonbrige Judd- 31

What a great game to finish the season on. Our Colts could only scrape 16 players against one of the strongest teams in Kent. Absent were many players including Ethan Walker who was red carded in the cup final. Coaches and supporters were prepared for a drubbing but our lads came up with a team game that was an inspiration to all watching.
The play and score fluctated all through the game with tries in response to tries. When the referee said last play the scores were level at 26 all and it was Heathfieds scrum.
Tom Nudd decided to play the ball rather than kick it into touch and come away with a deserved draw. Unfortunately there was turn over ball and Judd scored a last minute try to give them the win.Tom said after the game when asked why he did not kick to touch that they wanted to win. That showed the attitute of this years colts and why they have had such a great season.
One of the most excitoing games this season and there have been a few.
So farewell to the senior colts who will hopefully be playing a great standard of senior rugby next season and showing the seniors their pace and skills. A good springboard for the 17's who will be the senior colts next season.
1st May is the last time they will all be together when we hold a party for them at the club along with an awards ceremony.
