Play mini and junior rugby at Cross-In-Hand - and become an International Rugby Player

Heathfield is delighted to report that Lars Thorkildsen received a Senior International Cap when he played almost the last twenty minutes at Number 8 for Norway in the Rugby Europe European Nations Cup 2014-2016 on Saturday 3rd October.
Norway secured a hard fought 15-16 away victory against Bulgaria in Bourgas by the Black Sea with Lars being part of a side that had to withstand great pressure in the last few minutes of the game.
He thus becomes the fourth youngest person ever in the records of international rugby to be capped as a substitute and the youngest ever as a replacement Number 8. The link below provides some detail for those who enjoy such nerdish details.

Just one other younger person has started as a number 8, S Soare for Romania v France 4 May 1924, at 17 years 308 days. Lars was a relatively mature 17 years and 316 days on his debut. By comparison Serge Parisse had to wait until he was 18 years and 269 days for his debut – not bad company for Lars to be keeping.
Lars joined Heathfield from Hastings & Bexhill RFC at the age of 11 and has played in all Heathfield’s junior age groups: he was part of last year’s National U-17 Cup winning team for Heathfield.

He won't be the last.......
