The weather gods removed the threat of snow and frost leaving the main pitch in great condition.
This was the last game of our second waterfall league. Having won our two previous games, the team knew a win today will secure the waterfall league and gain promotion for the final waterfall before the end of the season.
From the kick off the first 10 mins were tight with both teams playing some good rugby.
Then with the team attacking the Edenbridge 22 a good decision was taken to kick for the corner from our own penalty. Then the forwards called a training ground move. Sam T was spot on with his throw to Sam W who was able to offload to Freddie M who powered over to score. Tom R converted well. Indeed he hit 80% on all his kicks, the best stats of any kicker this season.
With the forwards mauling well the team scored two more unanswered tries from Hector and Stan. Just before half time Edenbridge scored the first of two tries.
With our "finishers" starting to come on a half time the team continued to play some of the most expansive rugby we have played this season. Our wingers saw more of the ball today than they had all season.
Then came a piece of individual skills that saw Ben W beat several players as he danced to score in front of the club house. This and his performance throughout the game earned him main of the match .
Our last try was set up by the forwards, another great kick from Tom R, some great chasing by the backs that allowed Hector to score under the posts.
A well coached and organised Edenbridge team refused to surrender and scored a well deserved try at the just before the final whistle.
The final score being 33-10
