After the gales on Saturday it was lovely to wake up to unbroken blue skies at a slightly blustery Waldron.
Pulborough had made the big trip across Sussex overcome a tandom bike ride to get to us. With some last min drop outs the 13 players and parents were welcomed in bacon butties and filter coffee by the awesome team Newman.
A quick reshuffle before kick off had 7 in the scrum and 6 in the backs.
Heathfield started strongly with the forwards winning several rucks for the dynamic George to scores 2 tries. Tom converting both.
With Heathfield playing some flowing rugby the forwards deserved the next to tries scored by Jack F and Sam W. Heathfield continued to dominate the line out and Oli T scored the try of the game which recycled the ball almost the full length of the pitch with the backs and forwards working in perfect harmony.
At the start of the second half Pulborough began to dominate possession. There forwards making hard yards supported by some fluent works from the backs. They deservedly scored the first two tries of the second half.
This woke up heathfield who again looked to the dominant forwards with Sam T and Finn completing the tries for Heathfield. Tom converted his 4 conversions of the day.
Big thank you to Ben for doing such a great job as referee, Fi for washing the team shirts, Guy and team Newman for the coffee, tea and bacon rolls.
Pulborough coaches picked out Finn as the man of the match for HWRFC with the Heathfield coaches picking out 13 and 8 for PRFC.
