After a night of non stop rain, we feared for the worst........but the call never came, it was on. What a fantastic turnout! We had a travelling squad of 25 against a Lewes squad of 16. An excellent training session started with a energetic group warm up, stretching and then into some fun games of Bulldog. This progressed into tackle drills with the crash bags before we split into 3 teams and Lewes into 2 teams for some "friendly games". It took a little while for us to get into our stride conceding some early points, but then it all started to change, our boys started to play to our strengths in passing by moving the ball around before the tackle and made a come back. Lewes were a strong squad with some big players to which we held our own with some crashing tackles and a strong defending line.
It was great to have some decent weather and allowing our caged animals (kids) to finally enjoy running around in the sun again. Lets hope for more of the same next week for the all important "H" Cup and Hastings Festival. Great work today everyone!
