Heathfield & Waldron RFC are mourning the death of Mark Hassall who was recently taken from us far too early.
Mark played for the club from its earliest days and remained a strong supporter thereafter as a Vice President. He will be much missed as a friend by many club members and is remembered for his skill as a player and his knowledgeable and insightful comments about the game both whilst on the pitch and in the bar.
His funeral is on Wednesday 16th September. Under the current restrictions attendance at the funeral is by invitation only. However his widow Wendy has arranged for the funeral procession to come to the club for a brief visit and send off before proceeding to Horam Crematorium for the family service. In her own words ‘I thought it would be good for everyone to meet there then hopefully be able to see the funeral via a link the funeral directors have given me’
The service will be shown on TV screens in the clubhouse and we suggest meeting at 3.15pm to applaud Mark on his journey.
