So that is consecutive 22 - 42 score lines on a Sunday, but crucially this time we came out ahead. The final margin looks significant but Horsham refused to lie down and were in contention until the last few minutes. Their competitive forwards opted to pick-and-go, played well and scored their 4 tries at close range around the fringes.
Our forwards played well but in bright sunshine and on the excellent Horsham first team pitch this was tailor-made for our backs, who combined well to bring our runners in at speed. We scored 6 tries (all converted.... great job!) by pulling the opposition out of position and then letting the Maxes strut their stuff.
Next up, in just a fortnight’s time, we have the derby game versus Crowborough..... which is always an excellent contest and great fun.
